Recover well, recover fast
Carolene’s approach to hand therapy integrates targeted upper limb rehabilitation techniques, including soft tissue and mobilisation, therapeutic exercises and functional strengthening strategies tailored to the hand, wrist, elbow, and upper arm. With a deep understanding of biomechanics and upper limb movement, she designs goal-driven exercise programs that not only support tissue healing but also restore fine motor skills, grip strength, coordination, and confidence in daily tasks.
Her practice is grounded in evidence-based, patient-centred rehabilitation, with a strong emphasis on function, pain management, and long-term recovery. She also has advanced expertise in custom orthotic fabrication for protection, support, and enhanced function, and has contributed to innovation in the field through her work in 3D-printed orthoses and functional prosthetics.
As an Executive Committee Member of the Singapore Association of Hand Therapists (SAHT), Carolene actively contributes to the growth of the profession through clinical leadership and education. Her dedication to teaching has been recognised with the NHG Teaching Excellence Award and the TTSH Clinical Educator Award (2023).
